Scope 3

TSC NetZeroTM not only tracks your company’s direct and energy-related emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) but also helps manage the more complex Scope 3 emissions, which cover a wide range of indirect emissions occurring throughout your value chain. These emissions can often make up the majority of a company’s carbon footprint, so addressing them is crucial for achieving comprehensive sustainability goals.

To log data for Scope 3 emissions, follow these steps:

  1. Access the Carbon Ledger from the Main Menu.
  2. In the left-hand sidebar, select Scope 3.
  3. Expand the activities list by clicking on Scope 3.
  4. Select the specific activity to log data for, such as:
    • Purchased goods or services
    • Capital Goods
    • Fuel and Energy related activities
    • Upstream transportation and distribution
    • Waste Generated in operations
    • Employee commuting
    • Downstream transportation and distribution
  5. Click the green "+ Record" button on the right-hand side above.
  6. Input all the required details.
  7. Ensure accurate entry of emission factors and data.
  8. Click Save to store the data in the Carbon Ledger.

Best Practices:

  • Regularly update the Carbon Ledger to reflect changes in emission sources and activities.
  • Verify data accuracy to ensure reliable emission reporting.
  • Utilize the Carbon Ledger to identify areas for emission reduction and optimization.

By systematically recording emission data in the Carbon Ledger, you'll establish a comprehensive and auditable record of your organization's carbon footprint, supporting informed decision-making and sustainability initiatives.
